Concrete Floor Leveling Vancouver

Our client in Vancouver needed some concrete floor leveling work done.

We've all been there, trying to DIY a project and find out that the finished product is not level after the fact. It's actually a quite common issue to witness with concrete leveling if the work is not done by a professional whos sole focus is on concrete floor leveling. Concrete leveling is the most important step to have a truly flat floor when flooring is being installed. If you are looking to renovate your floor, leveling the subfloor is the first step that must be taken in the process. If you don't level the subfloor, you are at risk of voiding most flooring installers warranties, excessive movement of your floors under regular foot traffic, cracked boards, squeaky floors, and joint breakage just to name a few. An uneven floor also decreases the value of your home or business as potential buyers will look at this as a major flaw of your property. Not to mention, it is expensive to remove your flooring and having to redo the floor leveling again.

Concrete Leveling Vancouver

Leveling your subfloors is actually an important step required to meet flooring code requirements. When our team works on your home we ensure that not only does your concrete floor come out perfectly level, your home will also remain spotless during the entire process. During our prep process, we tape your baseboards and seal any area where dust may enter. A dust control system is also set up to keep the airflow clean as well.

We start with a grinder which removes the impurities on your surface such as bacteria, drywall, and paint. This is done to ensure there is a strong bond with your floor for years to come. Once the impurities are removed from the floor, we vacuum the entire vicinity to ensure the surface is in the best condition. An inspection of the floor is done to check for any cracks or damages in the slab. A quick patch material may be used for damaged areas while caulking is done for cracks.

Once the surface is cleaned and touched up, we seal your floor with primer which helps to establish the bond between your flooring material and the subfloor. After the primer is fully dried, the concrete is poured onto the surface. With our years of experience in the industry, our team has created a process that allows us to pour the concrete at a fast pace to ensure the end product dries together and remains level as a single unit.

As the self leveling compound dries, our team checks the floor with a laser and straight edge to make sure the surface is within the guidelines we discussed as well as within spec. The final touches involves cutting any spray foam that remains and scraping concrete drips.
